2. Endocannabinoid System:
The endocannabinoid system (ECS) deficiency is responsible for regulating thousands of processes in our bodies. There are more cannabinoid receptors in the human brain than all other G protein-coupled receptors, combined.
This ubiquitous system is responsible for maintaining equilibrium and balance of neurotransmission, immune system activation, genetic transcription, and many other processes that affect every system of the body.
When the ECS becomes deficient, it loses the ability to maintain these vital processes, and disease is more likely to occur.
Many conditions involve ECS deficiency, including:
- Epilepsy/seizure disorders
- Certain cancers
- Arthritis/autoimmune conditions
- Neurodegenerative disorders
- Many common immunes, nervous, and chronic pain conditions
- Development disorder
- Arthritis
- Sickle Cell Disease
